Mangaluru: Amoolya Kamath, who topped in science stream with 599 marks (out of 600) in PU 2 exam, said that by attending the mock tests at the college, she was able to overcome exam fear.
A student of Expert PU College, Amoolya said that her parents and teachers were supportive. "Both my parents are doctors, but I want to become an engineer. I used to revise daily whatever was taught in the class. I used to reach back home at 7 pm and then used to study till 10.30 pm. However, I did not expect the first rank.”
Amoolya, daughter of Dr Dinesh Kamath and Dr Anuradha Kamath, has also attended Bharathnatyam senior exam and Carnatic music junior exam. "Music helped me to keep my mind calm," she added.
Deepashree S, who topped the state in commerce stream of PU 2 exam, said that she had expected a rank but not the first rank with 599 marks.
Speaking to DH, she said, "Lectures at Canara PU College helped me to understand the concept of subjects thoroughly. All the doubts were cleared in the classrooms. I used to revise daily, which helped me a lot.”
“Luck factor, apart from hard work, also plays a role in success. I want to become a CA. Hence, I was taking up coaching for CA while I was in PU itself. I will be writing the foundation exam in May. I will continue my graduation with integrated BCom with CA," she said. As a Carnatic classical singer, music has helped me to concentrate, she added.
