Bengaluru: The Karnataka Text Book Society (KTBS) has assured the traffic police of including road safety and traffic rules in the textbooks from the next academic year.

Responding to the request by the Bengaluru Traffic Police, the KTBS has said the textbooks for the 2025-26 academic year have already been printed and published and the content prepared by the traffic police will be included when the textbooks are revised next. 

Meanwhile, the KTBS has given a list of content included in the textbooks on road safety and traffic.

“We have already incorporated topics on road safety in our textbooks from class 2 to 9. The specialised content prepared by the traffic police department will be added in future,” reads the circular.

The traffic police have approached the Department of School Educational Research and Training (DSERT) requesting to include the content in road safety and traffic. The DSERT had forwarded the same to KTBS.
