Mangaluru: VHP leader Sharan Pumpwell was granted bail after police produced him at the judge's residence in Bendoorwell on Tuesday night.
According to police sources, Kadri police have registered a suo moto case and arrested Sharan for allegedly inciting people and disrupting communal harmony in the region.
Muslim leaders also have demanded the arrest of Bajrang Dal leader Bharat Kumdel from Puttur who also had made a provocative speech against Muslims.
The final rites of Abdul Rahim from Kolattamajalu will be performed at Kuma masjid in Kuttar, sources told DH.
