Chitradurga: A quarrel that broke out over "improper" serving of drinking water during a pre-wedding reception dinner, led to the cancellation of the wedding ceremony in Hiriyur city, Karnataka on Sunday.
The pre-wedding wedding reception of N. Manoj Kumar from Jagalur in Davangere district and C.A. Anita from Chirathahalli in Shira taluk in Tumkur district was held on Saturday night at Balija Shreya Bhavan.
A quarrel broke out between the relatives of the bride and groom's sides because the catering staff "did not properly" serve drinking water to them.
The quarrel that started on Saturday night continued even on Sunday morning. The muhurat was scheduled for 10.30 am on Sunday. Despite much mediation, the problem could not be resolved. Eventually, the wedding was called off after the bride and groom got involved in a fight.
