Karnataka's Maddur tense after communal clash during Ganesha procession, 21 arrested

Communal clashes erupted on Sunday in Karnataka's Maddur when stones were thrown at the Ganesha procession in Ram Rahim Nagar. According to police, the stone-pelting, which began about 500 metres from a mosque, led to retaliation from members of the procession. Police resorted to mild lathi charge to disperse two clashing groups.

The police have arrested 21 persons in connection with violence during the procession in front of a mosque on Sunday, CM Siddaramaiah said.
