Addressing a press meet here Kanrnooru Koragappa Rao Samsmarana Samithi working President Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli said from yakshagana artistes to being the owner of a mela, late Karnooru Koragappa Rai has served yakshagana field for five decades.
Peruvayi Narayana Shetty had worked in Kateel, Kundavu, Dharmasthala, Karnataka, Kalavihara, Kadi, Puttur, Bappanadu, Kible and other mela. He has carved a niche for himself in the role of Daksha, Devendra, Jabali, Arunasura, Karna, Hiranyaksha, Kaurava and so on.
Award
The award will carry a cash prize of Rs 5,000 and citation.
The award will be conferred by District-in-Charge Minister Krishna Palemar.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Sri Devi Education Trust President A Sadananda Shetty, Karnataka Yakshagana Bayalata Academy President Kumble Sundar Rao will be the chief guests on the occasion. An yakshagana ‘Brahmakapala’ will be staged on the occasion.
