In the examination instructions, the Authority states, “Any cloth, mask or cap covering the face, ears will not be allowed.”

The Authority has issued a detailed set of instructions on the dress code to be followed during the KCET 2025.

It has issued instructions separately for male and female candidates.

Female candidates have been strictly warned not to wear any metal ornaments. However, exemption has been given to mangalasutra and toe ring for married candidates.

“No metal ornaments will be allowed inside the examination hall, except Mangalasutra and toe ring,” the instructions read.

They are also banned from wearing high-heeled slippers/shoes. Only flat and light slippers are allowed.

“Female candidates are restricted from wearing clothes with broad embroidery, flowers, brooch or buttons. Even wearing full sleeve cloth, jeans pant has been banned,” the KEA said in the instructions.

For male candidates, it is mandatory to wear a half-sleeve, collarless shirt/T-shirt.

Male candidates must wear simple pants without pockets or with fewer pockets; Kurta-Pyjama and jeans pant will not be allowed. Wearing shoes inside the exam hall will not be allowed. Instead, candidates should wear simple sandals or slippers, the KEA has mentioned.

They are also barred from wearing earrings, hand kada, finger rings or any other metal ornaments.

Preventing malpractice

“Considering the instances of high-tech technologies used by students for malpractice during various exams, we have decided to introduce stringent measures during the KCET. We request students to follow the dress code and other instructions issued,” KEA executive director H Prasanna said.

The students are not allowed to leave the examination hall till the last bell.

Kannada examination will be held for the Horanadu and Gadinadu students on Tuesday. The main subject examinations will be held on Wednesday and Thursday.
