Bengaluru: In a move that will benefit hundreds of applicants, the Karnataka Examinations Authority has implemented one-time registration system for various recruitment examinations.

Higher Education Minister M C Sudhakar launched the dedicated portal for this purpose on Monday and explained that with this portal, candidates will no longer need to submit their details and documents for every recruitment exam.

"They will get an identification number while applying for a recruitment examination through KEA for the first time. If they want to apply for the post called by another department, they simply have to add their identification number and pay the fees," Sudhakar explained.

According to KEA officials, when a candidate submits the identification number, all the documents related to the candidate will be automatically generated and added to the application form. He only has to mention the post and department he is applying for.

This is to streamline the recruitment examinations conducted by KEA, the minister said.

Meanwhile, mentioning about the previous instances of malpractice in the recruitment exams, the minister said, "We have already introduced webcasting to avoid malpractice and even iris scanning of the candidates using artificial intelligence. Going a step further, we have decided to verify the details of the person who has joined the post with the person who appeared for the test."

This is to prevent impersonation, he mentioned.
