Madikeri: A person was arrested by the police for concealing an illicit drug inside a toothpaste tube, to be handed over to an undertrial at the district prison.
Surbeel (26) the accused, allegedly removed the content of the toothpaste tube and replaced it with hashish to hand it over to Sanam, an inmate of the prison.
The accused from Kerala's Kannur, claimed to be the brother of Sanam and brought toothpaste, toothbrush, soaps, oil and shampoo. During an inspection of elements by the Jail Superintendent, the black coloured drug was found in the tube.
The accused has been arrested, and 24 gm of hashish has been seized, the police said. A case is registered in Madikeri rural police station.
