Director of Allegro Ventures India Giselle Mehta was the chief guest on the occasion. In her address, Mehta spoke about the death of Shenoy’s works and his universal themes. Artist Gopadkar was eloquent about Shenoy’s themes and the enthusiasm he shows towards his work.

Later addressing the gathering, artist Shenoy explained the meaning of the word ‘art’ as ‘to keep the things in order, externally as well as internally’. He criticised the renewed interest in realistic art, that it is just what a camera can do, while the real art is beyond that. He admired the artistic talents in children, which often go beyond their age. He called his works ‘Painting without paint’ and pointed out that what he created in collage can not be done with paint.
