Shanivarasanthe, Kodagu district: A soldier from Malambi village in Somwarpet taluk of Kodagu district, P P Divin, is in critical condition following an accident in which an army vehicle fell into a gorge in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. His family has left for Udhampur in Jammu.
Divin, the only son of late Palangotu Prakash and Jaya, joined the Indian Army 10 years ago. Divin was to come home soon for his wedding in February.
Three jawans of Belagavi’s Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre from Karnataka - Subedar Dayanand Thirakannavar (44) from Belagavi, Lance Havaldar Anoop Poojary (33) from Kundapur and Mahesh Marigond (25) of Mahalingpur in Bagalkot district - were killed in the Poonch accident.
