Kolar auto drivers want fare hike

They submitted a memorandum to Muzrai Tahsildar Pankajamma in this regard on Monday. Apart from the hike in fuel price, the transport companies of public undertakings too have hiked the travel fare. When such is the situation, it is imperative to hike the auto fare, the association members said.

Since the prices of the auto spare parts have gone up, the auto drivers, majority of them being poor, are finding it difficult to manage their life.

Considering this, the government must increase auto fare from Rs 15 to Rs 18, said association members K V Suresh Kumar, Amjad Pasha, Narayan Swami and Rajkumar.
