Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Trilok Chandra said the responsibility of inculcating humanity and good conduct among students lies on the shoulders on teachers. He was speaking at Teachers Day programme organised by the Department of Public Instruction at T Channaiah Rangamandira here on Thursday.

He said the schools and colleges should not be the factories of producing students. They should work towards developing their personality, he noted. He said an uneducated man becomes a thief. But if an educated man treads on wrong path, he would become a bane to the society. White collar crimes and terrorist incidents are testimony to this fact. The education system is corrupted today as educated people are taking to crimes today. The society is dependent on teachers, he said.
The DC advised the teachers not to engage in any type of financial transactions. It would send a wrong message to students and also affect the society badly, he noted. Dr Trilok Chandra said teachers should act according to their consciences and told them not to go on a wrong path.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) B B Kaveri, who unveiled a portrait of Dr S Radhakrishnan, said the teachers should work well and secure a permanent position in their students’ hearts permanently. Teachers can leave a long-lasting impression on students’ mind, she noted.

The responsibility of getting more results in SSLC examinsations lies more on the government as well as private school teachers, she added. Taluk Panchayat President M Anjinappa said steps would be taken to provide basic facilities to government schools in the next two months.
He told the teachers to work hard and also assured them of extending cooperation for the construction of Guru Bhavana. District Government Employees’ Association President K N Manjunath said the disparities in the salaries of the state and the Union governments should be removed.
