H D Kote (Mysuru district): Two people - a bus driver and a pedestrian - died in a freak mishap, in H D Kote taluk of Mysuru district on Wednesday.
A KSRTC bus driver suffered a cardiac arrest and died while on duty in the moving bus. The bus, which went out of control, hit a woman standing by the roadside, who died on the spot. However, the passengers in the bus had a narrow escape.
The bus was bound for Mysuru from Manandavadi, when the mishap occurred.
According to sources, Sunil Kumar (30) was driving the bus, when he suffered cardiac arrest near Dhammanakatte in H D Kote taluk. The bus went out of control and rammed against Lakshmamma (60) of Dhammanakatte, who was standing by the roadside.
The conductor was trying to comfort the driver. However, the bus went out of control, hit the woman, veered into the field and came to a halt, after hitting a tree and an electricity pole.
Sunil is a native of Gandhanahalli in K R Nagar taluk. Antharasanthe police have registered a case.
