Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) has launched seven new tour packages to various destinations in South India this summer.
With a two-day package to Kodagu, the new tour packages include a four-day package to Puducherry and five-day packages to Mysuru-Ooty-Kodaikanal, Goa-Gokarna, Munnar-Thekkady, Ooty-Coonoor-Wayanad, and Kodaikanal-Munnar.
The price of the packages ranges from Rs 4,900 for Kodagu to Rs 10,820 for Mysuru-Ooty-Kodaikanal.
Sreenath K S, General Manager (Transport), KSTDC, said that the new packages were introduced based on the demand of tourists from Karnataka, especially Bengaluru.
"Apart from the newly introduced packages, Madurai-Rameshwaram- Kanyakumari is our evergreen package. There is almost always a demand for this particular package. However, we took into consideration long-pending demands of having a package to Puducherry and Munnar this time,” he said.
The official noted that these are weekly packages and usually the demand is higher during the summer due to the school holidays.
He also added that the increasing heat has had no effect on tourist activity so far. "For some packages, the trips will start in April," he noted.
The KSTDC also has tours from Bengaluru to Wayanad, a women’s special package to Talakaveri and Madikeri, a South Karnataka temple tour, and a one-day heritage tour to Belur and Halebidu from Bengaluru, among others.
The bookings are available on the KSTDC's official website.
