Kumaraswamy confident of winning 10-12 of 14

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said that the coalition partners were confident of winning 10-12 seats in the first phase of elections, held on Thursday. A total of 14 of the 28 seats in Karnataka went to polls during the day.

Speaking to reporters after exercising his franchise at Ketaganahalli in Ramanagar taluk, he also expressed confidence of his son Nikhil's victory in Mandya Lok Sabha constituency. "Media depicted the elections in Mandya Lok Sabha constituency in an extreme manner. Independent candidate Sumalatha got more publicity than Prime Minister Modi, he said.

After voting with his wife Anita Kumaraswamy and son Nikhil, he also held discussions with Bangalore Rural coalition candidate D K Suresh regarding the elections.
