Kushalnagar, Suntikoppa feel bundh heat

The bundh call given by BJP and few other organizations, opposing UNESCO World Heritage tag for Western Ghat parts of Kodagu district received good response at Kushalnagar and Suntikoppa regions.

The business came to standstill during the bundh hours (6 am to 6 pm) as shopkeepers closed shops voluntarily. 

Schools and colleges, Central and State government offices too were closed. Transportation of essential items like milk was allowed while medical shops too remained open as they were exempted from the bundh call.

However, the passengers faced the heat, as KSRTC and private buses remained off the road. Tourists from other districts too had to suffer due to the bundh.

As a part of the protest, BJP workers stopped vehicles at Mysore- Kodagu border area, near forest gate and vehicle movement was disrupted for hours.  

Madikeri BJP President M N Kumarappa, Zilla Panchayat Member B B Bharatish, Town Panchayat Members M V Narayana, V D Pundareekaksha, City BJP President N N Charan, Secretary H M Madhusudhan, BJP Workers G L Nagaraj, M H Mohammed, K G Manu, V Vaishak, Santhosh and members of various organisations were present.
