Harapanahalli (Vijayanagar district): In a tragic accident, a 35-year-old labourer died after he was struck by a train near Kambatrahalli in Vijayanagar district on Saturday.
Sundar Naik, hailing from Odisha, was employed by an agency that was awarded the contract for fixing cables. On Saturday, Sundar had his headphones on while working and did not hear the Ballari-bound train headed in his direction.
Since the train was travelling at a fair speed, the impact was such that Sundar’s head was severed from his body, police said.
