Tahsildar K Rathna on Tuesday ordered to exhume the body of a labourer, after receiving an anonymous call alleging it as a murder.
Manjegowda (45), who was sleeping in front of his house, was found dead on Monday morning. The family members also completed the last rites on the same day.
However, SP G Radhika received an anonymous call alleging that it was a murder on Tuesday. Following this, Tahsildar ordered to exhume the body and conduct a post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death.
Dr Anand and team conducted the post-mortem on the spot in the presence of Circle Inspector Venkateshaiah. The report is awaited.
However, Manjegowda's wife Bhagyamma said her husband was an alcoholic. He was drunk on Sunday night and was found dead on Monday morning.
