Mangaluru: Traffic came to a grinding halt on NH 75, connecting Mangaluru and Bengaluru, following a massive landslide at Mannagundi near Kaukradi village in Kadaba taluk on Thursday.

Police said the work on excavating mounds of soil dumped on the stretch had begun.

Despite soil continuing to cave in at the site of landslide, the road is likely to be cleared for traffic by noon.

Police have appealed to commuters to avoid Shirady Ghat on Wednesday and use other alternative roads to reach Bengaluru.
