Bengaluru: The state government on Friday announced the list of Lifetime Achievement Awards presented for cinema for the calendar years 2020 and 2021.
Senior actor and politician Jayamala, known for award-winning movies like Thaayi Saheba, and producer Sa Ra Govindu were conferred with the Dr Rajkumar Lifetime Achievement Award for the years 2020 and 2021, respectively.
Legendary filmmaker M S Sathyu, known for his groundbreaking cinema — Garm Hava, Chithegu Chinte and Bara among others — has been named as the recipient of the Puttanna Kanagal Award, the lifetime achievement award given to film directors. The 2021 recipient of the award is K Shivarudraiah. The Dr Vishnuvardhan Award, presented for lifetime contribution to Kannada cinema, was presented to still photographer Pragathi Ashwathnarayan and senior actor-producer
M K Sundar Raj.
