It was an anxious moment for over 150 students who have come to crack the Under Graduate Entrance Test for professional courses by Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (Comed-K) as there were technical glitches during the test at one of the test centres in the city on Sunday.
About 450 students were scheduled to write exams at the centre, where 150 of them experienced technical glitches. Considering the technical issues in logging in, Comed-K authorities provided them 40 minutes extra time.
Dr S Kumar, executive secretary of Comed-K, said, “To avoid anxiety among students during that delay period, they were served with refreshments and they were given exactly three hours time as per schedule.”
There were no malpractice cases reported from any of the centres. The test was conducted at 248 centres in 133 cities. In Karnataka, the test was held at 24 cities in 41 centres.
Of the total 70,163 candidates registered for the test, 58,834 attended, which comes around to 83.85% attendance at the national level. In Karnataka, of the 21,417 candidates registered, 18,901 appeared for the test.
The candidates said the test was easier than the recently concluded CET.
“I wrote both CET and Comed-K and I felt the latter was easier. The paper was simple and not lengthy,” said Poorvik G, who appeared for the test at the RNSIT centre in the city.
Vaishnavi R K, another student, said, “There were no tricky questions and everything was according to the prescribed syllabus. I have a feeling that I will score more in Comed-K than CET.”
