Bengaluru: The Karnataka Lokayukta has found further irregularities following their inspection of 54 BBMP offices on Friday.

According to a statement, several officials were found with more cash than what was declared in the registers.

It was found that attendance and movement registers were not maintained properly. The inspection also revealed that there was improper cash declaration and the respective registers were not maintained.

Further, the Lokayukta found that pleas by the public were kept pending and no action was taken against buildings that were built without permission. It was also found that private persons were appointed illegally by the officials.

The inspection further revealed that no information was given to the applicants whose e-khata applications were rejected. The Lokayukta also found that details of contacts of the Lokayukta weren’t displayed on the premises. The ombudsman has sought responses from senior BBMP officers.
