Lokayukta traps SDA at Kolar SP's office

The Second Division Assistant, R Nagaraj was caught while he was a bribe of Rs 4,000 from Chikkareddappa, a police constable attached to Vemagal police station, Lokayukta authorities said.

Chikkareddppa was in need of the relieving letter as he had secured the job of lecturer at Government Pre-University College in Koppal.

Nagaraj, the Second Division Assistant at the office of the Superintendent of Police had demanded a bribe of Rs 8,000 to issue the letter, which he later reduced to Rs 5,000. Chikkareddappa had lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta in this behalf.
Acting on the complaint by Chikkareddappa,  the Lokayukta sleuths had set up a trap for Nagaraj.

Nagaraj was caught red-handed during the operation conducted by PSI S Manjunath and staff H C Krishnappa, Kaviraju, Narasimhaiah and Manjunath, according to the release by Lokayukta authorities.
