Bengaluru: The Federation of Lorry Owners and Agents Association has decided to withdraw its protest after the government announced that it would disburse Rs 244.1 crore to cover transportation costs for Anna Bhagya scheme.
Pointing out they had not been paid since February 2025, the association members had gone on strike, demanding
Rs 265.89 crore.
Of the Rs 244.1 crore that the government has decided to disburse, Rs 180.63 crore will be allocated from general category quota, while Rs 43.93 crore will be sourced from Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP), and Rs 19.52 crore from Scheduled Tribe Sub-Plan (STSP).
Association president G R Shanmugappa said that they had been assured of the money being disbursed in 2 days. “We thank CM Siddaramaiah, deputy CM D K Shivakumar and Food and Civil Supplies Minister K H Muniyappa and the department secretary,” he said.
