With heavy rain lashing the district, many low-lying areas have been marooned.
The flood on Kumaradhara river at Subrahamnaya has resulted in snapping of vehicle movement on the Subrahmanya-Manjeshwara and Gundya-Dharmasthala route. Shops and hotels near the temple were inundated. Anticipating flood, many shopkeepers had shifted the goods to the safer areas. The Kumaradhara Junction was flooded. Many houses at Kulkuknda Colony were marooned but the residents were shifter to safer areas.

The Padaka bridge at Balugodu and Gundadka bridge near Subrahmanya have been inundated. Rivulets are also overflowing at various places.
Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil has directed officers to open a gruel centre for rain-affected citizens of Panemangaluru at the Sharada School in Bantwal.
The DC and MLA Rajesh Naik visited the affected areas in the taluk on Tuesday, as many low-lying areas have been inundated.
About 23 families have been shifted to safer areas, said Bantwal Tahsildar Purandar Hegde.
Water was further released to the Shambur AMR dam from the Nethravathi river while all the crest gates of Thumbe vented dam have been opened.
Five houses were damaged in Alekala and Halekote in Ullal on Monday night. Trees have collapsed on houses, and a two-wheeler while electricity poles were also damaged in Puttur. Mangaluru city too witnessed tree fall in various places.
In the last 24 hours, the district received an average of 107.1 mm rain: Belthangady – 151.9 mm, Puttur—116.1 mm, Sullia—108.9 mm, Bantwal—88.8 mm and Mangaluru—69.6 mm.
