Rear Admiral Mahesh Singh took charge from Rear Admiral K J Kumar as the Flag Officer Commanding Karnataka Naval Area at the Seabird Naval Base.
Till now, Singh was the chief of Eastern Command (Operations). Singh, who joined the Navy in 1987, was promoted as rear admiral in 2016.
