He was speaking after inaugurating a training programme organised by the Sri Kshetra Dharmastala Rural Development Programme (SKDRDP) to empower the Pragathi Bandhu Self-Help Groups at Sri Jwalamalini Girls High School at Bastimata near here on Sunday. He said that India could not achieve overall development even though the nation has a population of about 114 crore in 329 million hectares of land. “India can also achieve the goal, if citizens work together,” he added.

Prabhu called upon people to make use of the benefits of the schemes of SKDRDP. Delivering the keynote address, SKDRDP co-ordinator Seenappa said that arecanut, coconut and cashew saplings worth Rs 1.5 lakh will be distributed through Self-Help Groups in the region. A total of Rs 600 crore has been distributed as loans, he said. A week-long alcohol de-addiction camp will be organised at Koppa from September 7, he added.
