Mandya: A man has accused a micro-finance company recovery agent of taking away his seven-year-old daughter after he failed to pay the instalments of the vehicle loan in Mandya district.
Belakavadi police, of Malavalli taluk, has filed a case based on the complaint lodged by Naveen, an autorickshaw driver, of Jalahalli, T Narsipur taluk, Mysuru district, on Friday.
Mangalamma of Jalahalli had availed Rs 49,000 loan to buy an autorickshaw for her son Naveen, from a private finance company. Naveen had paid an instalment of Rs 2,200 per month for 12 months. However, he could not pay the instalment for May, the complaint said.
Naveen has stated in the police complaint that on June 16, he, along with his wife had gone to a relative's house in Purigali village in Malavalli taluk. "We had left the children at home and had gone out. The finance company employees came there in search of us and abused our family in front of our children".
"By the time we returned, they took my daughter and her cousin, a boy, to the incense stick factory, where my wife was working. As they were not allowed inside the factory, they brought the children home and left", the complaint stated.
He also alleged harassment by the microfinance company manager of T Narsipur branch. As the finance company may trouble us, the police should give us protection and take action against the company employees, he has stressed in the complaint.
