Man bites wife's nose for failing to repay loan

She had raised loan from a credit society

An enraged man allegedly bit his wife's nose for not repaying the loan borrowed from a credit society at Mantaraghatta village in the taluk, on Thursday.

According to police, Vidya (30) had borrowed a loan of Rs 2 lakh from the society. Although, she had been regularly paying the loan instalments on time, she failed to pay the last two instalments. As a result, she was served notice by the society. 

Angered at this, her husband Vijay (35) assaulted Vidya and bit her nose in a rage. He allegedly issued death threats to her. 

Injured Vidya received primary treatment in Channagiri and has been shifted to a hospital in Shivamogga for further treatment.

Vijay is absconding.

A case has been registered at Channagiri police station.
