Mangaluru: An FIR has been registered at the CEN station regarding a fraud of Rs 43.32 lakh under the pretext of investment. An individual was lured with promise of high returns in stock and Initial Public Offering (IPO) transactions.
In a complaint, the victim said an unknown person sent him a WhatsApp message on September 25.
The sender introduced himself as Manju Pachisi , Assistant at IIFL Securities Limited and encouraged investment by sending an online link, claiming high profits could be made in stock and IPO transactions.
Another link was sent via the Telegram app. Following the advice, between September 26 and October 23, the victim transferred a total of Rs 43.32 lakh in a phased manner.
When he tried to withdraw the invested amount, he was asked to pay 25 per cent commission. Having realised that he has been duped, he filed a complaint.
