Mangaluru: The Bantwal Rural Police have successfully solved a theft case that took place at a cloth shop in Farangipete, in Pudu village under the jurisdiction of the Bantwal Rural Police Station.
On the intervening night of April 11 and 12, unidentified miscreants broke the lock on the shop's shutter and entered the premises, and stole cash from the counter. A case was registered at the Bantwal Rural Police Station under Section 331(4), 305 of the BNS.
During the investigation, police arrested one Nazeer Mohammad (26), a resident of Kannur-Adyar village, Mangaluru taluk. From his possession, the police recovered Rs 1,09,490 worth of cash that was part of the stolen amount and also seized the motorcycle had used to commit the crime.
It has come to light that Nazeer Mohammad was also involved in a case in 2024, in which he broke the glass of a TVS showroom in Kannur, Mangaluru, under the jurisdiction of Kankanady Town Police Station and stole money.
The operation to nab the accused was carried out under the leadership of Police Inspector Shivakumar B and a team of officers and staff from the Bantwal Rural Police Station.
