Hubballi: A case has been registered against a passenger for opening the emergency exit of the Hubballi-Pune flight recently.
According to the complaint, Niranjan Karagi from Belagavi district was heading to Pune from Hubballi in an IndiGo flight on Sept 12. After boarding the flight, he opened the emergency exit door, inviting danger to co-passengers.
The IndiGo staff in the flight and ground took him to Gokul Road police station, where a case was booked under BNS section 125.
The police said, during investigation, the passenger said he opened the emergency exit unknowingly.
He claimed that he was not aware of the consequences.
According to sources, after the door was opened, all passengers were de-boarded and the flight took off, after a delay of one hour.
