Mangaluru: A man suffered a bullet injury following an alleged misfiring from an unlicensed pistol at Vamanjoor near Mangaluru. The injured is Mohammed Safwan (25). Commissioner of Police Anupam Agrawal said that the police received an intimation regarding the gunshot injury at a resale shop near Vamanjoor.
On enquiry, it was found that the shop was owned by Addu alias Badruddin, 34, who owned an unlicensed pistol. He was allegedly testing a pistol and pressed the trigger. As a result, a bullet from the pistol injured Safwan, who was seated at his shop.
Later, the injured was shifted to a hospital for treatment. It was later learned that the weapon was unlicensed and was given to Addu by Moodshedde Imran.
A case was registered at Mangaluru Rural police station under sections 3, 5(1)(a), 25(1A), 25(1B)(a), 27(1) of the Arms Act and 110 of BNS. Further investigation is in progress.
