The Raitha Hitarakshana Samiti of the district has called for Mandya bandh on September 15 in a bid to intensify the protest condemning the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.
Samiti president G Madegowda told reporters that the protest is being intensified to exert pressure on the State and Central governments. A dharna has been organised on September 14, while a mega rally has been planned on September 17.
