The politicians have been visiting the city and  assuring to provide the much-needed basic amenities.

One look at the colony during rainy season is enough to give a clear picture of the problems.  Leaking houses situated on the roads turned slushy field, which lacks underground drainage system and open toilets.

The elected representatives and local administration are aware of the problems existing in the colony. Netas do not fail to visit the layout during the regular protests and rain promises. District-in-charge minister R Ashok’s close confidante MLA Ashwath Narayana too had visited the layout and assured to include the colony to city limits and solve the problems.

An year has passed after his visit and the condition remains the same as till now no steps have been taken to solve the issues. CMC member Nanjundappa said the colony has been included to his ward and efforts are on to solve the problems in the colony. He also alleged that some residents of the colony themselves are creating hurdles in solving the issue.

The development of the colony had to be undertaken under Rajiv Gandhi Housing project, but could not be done. Now efforts are on to supply drinking water and other basic amenities.

He also assured that he would hold discussions with the government to allocate funds under chief minister’s city development fund and works would be taken up once the funds are sanctioned.
