Mangaluru: Karnataka BJP, under the leadership of State President B Y Vijayendra, will hold 'Dharmasthala Chalo' march to express our solidarity with the Dharmasthala Kshetra, on September 1, said Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta.
Speaking to mediapersons at Dharmasthala on Sunday, he said. “Smear campaign and false propaganda is being carried out against Hindu places of worship, thereby attempting to hurt the sentiments of the Hindus in the state. False propaganda is being carried out against Dharmasthala Kshetra without any evidence. As a result, the BJP state President B Y Vijayendra decided to hold Dharmasthala Chalo to maintain the sanctity of the temple and to stand in solidarity with the Dharmasthala temple, Hindu society and lakhs of devotees.”
Along with Vijayendra, union minister Pralhad Joshi, Shobha Karandalje, Somanna, BJP state core committee members, Karnataka BJP in-charge Sudhakar Reddy, all district BJP presidents, and office bearers, along with BJP workers, will take part in Dharmasthala Chalo.
“Through Dharmasthala Chalo, we want to send a strong message that the BJP will not tolerate any attempt to tarnish the image of the Hindu places of worship and also hurt the sentiments of the Hindus. The BJP is always with the law of the land, constitution and will uphold the values of democracy,” said the MP.
“There is a conspiracy by those who fail to value the law of the land and constitution. The state government should have taken action against those who are spreading smear campaigns.”
Capt Chowta said, “the BJP had welcomed SIT to investigate the allegations. The SIT should probe into the case from all angles including those from outside involved in the conspiracy. The SIT should also probe into the funding to the smear campaign. Communists and SDPI are engaged in propaganda. SDPI is nothing but another face of PFI, which has been banned in the country. According to a report, the PFI activists are working as SDPI members and are involved in anti national and anti Hindu activities. In the last assembly election, the Congress was hand in glove with the SDPI. The Congress is nurturing SDPI in the state,” he alleged.
The BJP has been demanding an NIA probe into the Dharmasthala issue. State President B Y Vijayendra will discuss on how to pursue the Centre for the NIA probe, he added.
DK BJP president Sathish Kumpala and others were present.
