Mangaluru: The Kavoor police have arrested two persons for allegedly creating and sharing a video on social media in which one of them is seen dancing with a sword, an act that reportedly caused fear among the public.
Commissioner of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy C H said that on December 13, a Facebook account named “Suresh Psy” , operated by Suresh (29), shared a story featuring a video of Ameer Suhail (28) dancing to a song while holding a sword.
The video was uploaded with the caption “VIBES” and a white heart emoji. The Commissioner said the content, circulated on social media, had the potential to intimidate the public.
Based on this, Kavoor police registered a case under Section 352(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, along with Sections 4 and 25(1)(a) of the Indian Arms Act and Section 66 of the Information Technology Act.
Both Suresh and Ameer have been arrested by the police. The police have seized a sword used in the reel and mobile phones used to record and share the video on social media.
Ameer Suhail (28) is a resident of Bunder, Mangaluru, and Suresh (29), a resident of Urundadigudde, Kavoor, Mangaluru.
The arrests were made by a team led by Kavoor Police Inspector Raghavendra M Baindoor, under the guidance of Mangaluru North Sub-Division ACP Shrikanth K, with Police Sub-Inspector Mallikarjuna Biradar and others.
