Mangaluru: A police head constable has been suspended after he allegedly trespassed into a house and assaulted one of the family members at Koyila in Kadaba.
Complainant Babu Gowda (53) of Koyila, Kadaba, said that on the late night of December 3, loud noises were heard from the nearby house of his brother, Harish. When he went to check, the family members had apprehended an unidentified man who had illegally entered the house.
As per the complaint, the intruder allegedly attacked a family member, Chetan with his hand while attempting to escape. When questioned by the family, the man identified himself as Raju Naik, a Head Constable attached to Kadaba Police Station.
A case has been registered at Kadaba Police Station under Sections 329(3), 115(2), and 331(6) of the BNS.
Police have taken Raju Naik into custody for interrogation and will produce him before the court. The police confirmed that he has been suspended with immediate effect. Further investigation is in progress.
