Mangaluru: A domestic passenger arriving from Mumbai was detained at Mangaluru International Airport on Monday evening after security personnel found around 500 grams of hydroponic ganja in his luggage.
According to CISF officials, the passenger, identified as Shankar Narayan Poddar arrived by IndiGo flight which landed at 6.10 pm. Acting on a tip-off, the CIW team of CISF detained the passenger for questioning soon after arrival.
During the inspection of his checked-in baggage, officials discovered approximately 512 grams of hydroponic ganja.
Following the seizure, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Bengaluru, and the local police were informed. The passenger, along with the confiscated substance, was later handed over to Bajpe Police Station for further legal proceedings.
