Mangaluru: An Instagram page with over one lakh followers, which was posting inflammatory and provocative content on social media, has been deactivated.

Commissioner of Police Anupam Agrawal said that in connection with the Suhas Shetty murder case under the jurisdiction of Bajpe Police Station in Mangaluru city, posts made from the Instagram page named beary_royal_nawab were found to be provocative.

These posts incited hatred and enmity among people of different religions and communities, encouraging illegal activities and potentially leading to communal unrest.

A total of three cases were registered at the Barke and Mulki police stations in Mangaluru city related to the issue. These cases have now been transferred to the Mangaluru CEN Police Station for further investigation.

The Commissioner said formal communication was made with the concerned law enforcement agency to take action against the said Instagram page. As a result, the beary_royal_nawab Instagram page has been deactivated and made inaccessible within India.

The investigation into these cases is being carried out under the guidance of Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal, Deputy Commissioners of Police Siddharth Goyal, and Ravishankar with the CEN Crime Police Station continuing to pursue the case.
