Mangaluru: A 38-year-old woman has fallen prey to an online fraud and lost Rs 2,19,500 from her credit cards.

In a complaint, Vasudha Gopalakrishna Shenoy, wife of Gopalakrishna Shenoy, who is working as a Manager at a bank branch in Belthangady said that she received a text message on her mobile phone number containing a link to "interviewshine.co.in".

As soon as she clicked on the link, her gmail account and Amazon App were hacked. Following this, unauthorised transactions were made from her bank cards, Amazon cards, Credit cards.

In total, a sum of Rs 2,19,500 was deducted from her accounts, and she received messages regarding these transactions on her mobile number.

A case has been registered at the CEN Station under Sections 66(D) of the IT Act, 318(2), and 318(4) of the BNS Act.
