Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri has issued another notice to District in-charge Minister A Manju for violating the model code of conduct, here, on Monday.

The DC has also recommended to the Election Commission to suspend previous tahsildar of Arkalgud Prasanna Murthy, who had allegedly connived with the minister in allotting lands for bagair hukum cultivators illegally. She has recommended a departmental enquiry against the tahsildar.

Meanwhile, BJP district president and ticket aspirant of Arkalgud constituency Yoga Ramesh, in a press conference, on Monday, urged the Election Commission not to allow Manju to contest the upcoming polls. Ramesh alleged that Manju had sanctioned the bagair hukum lands and distributed the documents at his residence on March 30 and 31, though the poll code of conduct was in place. "He has tampered with the documents, changing the date of distribution as March 20," he said.

"A complaint was lodged with the District Election Officer in this connection. The minister, who should be a role model for others, has violated the poll code of conduct. The Election Commission should stop him from contesting the upcoming polls," he said.
