The university has invited applications from working professionals, teachers and fresh graduates. The written test will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2012, at 28 centres across the country. It will examine candidates’ proficiency in English, analytical ability, general and social awareness and knowledge of relevant subjects. The last date for receiving filled-in applications is February 10, 2012.

The university, sponsored and established by the Azim Premji Foundation under the Azim Premji Private University Act of the Government of Karnataka, is multidisciplinary in its approach. The university has said that it would provide special financial support programmes to working professionals who secure admission to the university. It has also promised to provide placement support for careers in government, private sector, non-governmental organisations, and multi-lateral agencies.
The current estimated demand for education and development professionals is over three lakh per annum and the Azim Premji Foundation itself will recruit over 4,000 professionals during the next 4 years.
