With MCC receiving more than Rs 100 crore from various Central and state agencies, the system includes project management, accounting details, quality control, financial management, MIS, contractors performance and deposits. All these itemised details would be available on the website.

Addressing councillors at the launch of the project, medical education and district in-charge minister S A Ramdas said the project would help strengthen transparency at MCC. Earlier, in order to get information, public had to file an application under Right To Information (RTI).

But, now all they have to do is visit the website and get to know the complete details of the project and perhaps the progress too. All stakeholders of MCC — citizens, contractors and councillors — can now avail information from the website.

The complete workflow of projects, including date of commencement and completion would be updated on the website.

If a project has been extended beyond the deadline, higher officials including MCC commissioner would be intimated about the delay. Apart from project details, even photographs of works being undertaken at regular intervals would be uploaded on the website.

If a citizen is not happy about the quality of work being undertaken by the contractors, they can raise an objection.

The objection would be forwarded to a higher official, who would have to make note of the issue and inspect the work. Once the inspection is carried out by the official, he can give a report of his findings to the citizen, who can then cancel the objection he has raised — if he finds it satisfactory.

MCC commissioner K S Raykar said data collected from  all zones of MCC had been uploaded on the system. He said implementation of the system was a new era in the history of the city.
