Speaking at the release of ‘Kadadida Karnataka,’ a report on moral policing in Dakshina Kannada, he blamed the media, especially the visual media for sowing seeds of communal hatred.

“Whenever an incident occurs they blow it out of proportion, eventhough it is insignificant. Even when people were dying due to floods, they were highlighting the rescue of the Mantralaya seer,” he observed.

The government was biased in dealing with the matter, as no action was initiated against those responsible even after the State Human Rights Commission recommended action, he pointed out.

“On the contrary cases against the Sangh Parivar has been dropped. They speak of eliminating terrorism and but communalism is a bigger threat,” he said.
Dwarkanath observed that the lower judiciary had not convicted a Sangh Parivar member, so far.

He also criticised the State government’s action inviting the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for the workshop.

A website puclbangalore.org was also launched on this occasion, which aims at creating awareness on National Human Rights Commission activities.
