The father of the rape victim had lodged a complaint with APMC police on February 10, but no arrests have been made so far, Vijugouda told reporters here.

Patil said that he would stage a protest in front of the BLDE office on Thursday demanding justice for the deceased girl and stringent action against the perpetrator/s.

“Unable to bear sexual harassment by a senior student, Tanmayi K (27) a native of Hyderabad, who was pursuing her second year in postgradutaion (pediatrics) at B M Patil Medical College, died by sucide. Before taking the extreme step, she had informed about the harassment to her friends and her brother, Vijugouda Patil said quoting the complaint lodged by victim’s father K Chandrashekar Reddy.

She also complained about the harassment and the blackmail by her senior to the HoD and the professors, but no action was taken, the complaint alleged. Patil demanded action against Dr D Akhil for abetment to suicide. He also sought action against HoD Dr M M Patil and professor Dr Shrishail Shettar.
