“The demand for power in the State has raised from 105 to 121 million units after the conclusion of monsoon, but the power generation has remained static. The power situation in the State, meeting the burgeoning demand and the possibility of enforcing load shedding will be deliberated in the meet,” he informed media persons here on Sunday.
Regarding the Gundya hydel power project, he reiterated that there is no question to drop the project.
He admitted that Union Minister for Forest and Environment Jairam Ramesh had written a letter to Chief Minister opposing Gundya project. Jairam Ramesh has just voiced his opinion which cannot be considered as official stand or order of Union government, he stated.
The minister admitted that there are some confusions between Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and Reddy brothers over administrative issues like levying additional toll on ore-carrying trucks and transfer of Gadag deputy commissioner.
Eshwarappa said that such confusions are common in administration. Such confusions which can be resolved through talks should not be considered as difference of opinion. Regarding the resentment expressed by Karunakara Reddy and Janardhana Reddy against CM’s style of functioning, he said that there is no threat to the stability of the Government from this. He denied interference by the chief minister in the portfolio of the Cabinet colleagues.
