Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday held a meeting with the advisory committee headed by Jnanapith awardee U R Ananthamurthy for selection of those eligible for the Kannada Rajyotsava award.
The panel members are learnt to have apprised the chief minister of the selection process and a tentative list of eligible persons for the award. But the list of names for the award has not been finalised yet. Siddaramaiah is likely to hold another round of meeting on Monday. The award will be presented on November 1.
Besides the panel members, Law Minister T B Jayachandra, Kannada and Culture Minister Umashree, Home Minister K J George and others attended the meeting.
