The Mekedatu project is the only solution for the Cauvery water-sharing dispute between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar said on Friday.

“This has been brought to the notice of the Supreme Court. If the Mekedatu project materialises, then this problem will be solved. If the Mekedatu reservoir is there, this problem will not arise,” Shivakumar, also the water resources minister, said.
